Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles made this statement on her twitter page shortly after shaving off her hair “I just want to be free from the bondage that black women sometimes put on themselves in with hair”.
Although there has been a recent rave of black female celebrities who have been shaving-off or partially shaving-off their hair, that hair trend is synonymous with our African-American Ancestry.
Solange Knowles, Cassie, Alek Wek and Amber Rose all prove that short-hair to Pixie haircuts are just as feminine as long hairstyles.
